Can you identify this? - Found under the decking

Foul and surface water, private drains and public sewers, land drains and soakaways, filter drains and any other ways of getting rid of water.

Hi All,

I am ripping up the old decking at the moment as I will be installing a new patio and found this. Any ideas what it is and is for? Am I ok to cap it and cover?

Pretty sure that's a rodding eye mate, used for jetting/clearing out pipe work.

I'd avoid making it totally inaccessable as they're pretty useful

Thanks for the reply. I'll make sure to allow access - just in case :)

Definitely a rodding eye, nicely contructed too!

Leave it accessible.
