I take it one is top water the the other a foul drain, if the are separate then you should not cover them over but if they do join together then you could loose one of them
if not then cut the outer flange off the recessed covers where they meet so the covers are touching but still offset from each other like the existing covers are
you can push or pull the recessed covers forward or backwards 50 - 75mm so you don't end up with very thin pieces of flags either outside or inside of the recessed covers, basically making the cover blend into the patio the most pleasing way on the eye

If they're not yours then why bother spending any money on them just cover them it's not your problem they shouldn't be there. If they have a blockage or a problem it can be fixed by dynorod from further down the system. Also not having them will look a lot better. Cut the risers down and put the covers making sure there's enough depth for the flag and mortar.
Can't see it from my house

do a simple test, get someone to flush a loo and watch if yo see anything, same with a bucket of water in a surface water drain
then you know for sure, i wouldn;t pave over them its always best to preserve them if you can.
get one large recessed tray and cover them both with one?

putting a 300 x 300 square cover on top of a 450 diameter does not work unless you get 100mm wide strips of metal to cover the difference in size all the way round to give the cover support, I did 3 a few weeks ago exactly the same as you suggesting Dave
a 900 x 600 recessed tray is a lot more expensive than 2 450 x 450 square recessed trays

Bugger, I didn't realise the chambers were 450's, looked like two 300mm bins until I looked at the nearby shovel!!!!mickg wrote:putting a 300 x 300 square cover on top of a 450 diameter does not work unless you get 100mm wide strips of metal to cover the difference in size all the way round to give the cover support, I did 3 a few weeks ago exactly the same as you suggesting Dave
