Sealant for raj greeen?

Hi All

Firstly thanks for a really genuinely useful and informative site; I've managed to blunder through laying a couple of paved areas and facing off some raised beds with some Raj Green sandstone and I'm fairly pleased with the results (despite some slightly sloppy pointing on the vertical faces of the wall, but I'm hoping a little time with a wire brush or something may tidy that up???)..

Anyway - as per the subject of this post the Grecian 2000 effect that you get when it rains looks much more appealing and I'd like to get some kind of sealant to get that in a more permanent way.

I believe this stone is quite popular (=cheap) so I was hoping someone may be able to make a suggestion from experience?

I've scanned the previous posts and mailed www.extensive.co.uk as someone else suggested but any real life experience from a non-sales person would always be appreciated more!

if you want an invisible sealant then lithofin MN stainstop is the one
if you want the colours enhanced then lithofin MN stainstop plus is the kiddie
loads of people do gloss type sealants but this becomes a regular maintenance chore

Thanks for the suggestion; I'll give it a go.

Re: coverage; they say:

Coverage: the coverage depends on the absorbency of
the surface. Approximations: rough, highly absorbent stones:
approx. 6 to 8m²/litre, polished stones: approx. 15m²
very dense stones: up to 40m²

Would you say this indian stuff is probably towards the absorbent end of that scale?

i would possibly work on 7m/l first coat then maybe 10.5m/l second coat if its a two coat product.

The raj green is one of the more dense stones, so it should not drink too much sealant.
The stain stop plus reccomended is a beast and willl seal the stone and enhance the colour.
Lithofin do supply a product called colour enhancer but as advised in previous post it will need to be re-applied on a more regular basis than the stain stop +

IME about 10m2 per litre
but that s only on a couple of jobs
