Sealant recommended for peacock blue slate please

After spending a fair while looking around the website and some of the recommended sealant links I still can't find the answer I'm looking for so I d thought I'd take a punt here.

I've just had around 25msq of Peacock blue slate put down as a patio and according to the advice here on paving expert it says I should consider sealing it as the 'metallic look' can quickly become dulled. It also says it isn't the best stuff for a patio but I got to this web site too late for that advice.

Any recommendations for reputable sealer? I'm not massively interested in colour enhancement as it seems nice enough anyway.

Hi Scott

In our experience slate doesn't need sealing. It generally holds its original colour.

Also may be worth doing a test on an off cut first just to make sure you are comfortable with the colour

I may well see how it lasts out through the autumn and winter and then look again in the spring to see if I just saved my self 90 quid...

My guess is that you will never get round to sealing that slate
