I doubt that, no way a team could be quicker than a paver, plus more consistent finish with paver and hotter laying temperature.

on a small trench maybe but patching a large run and capacity at 200 tons a day claimed, plus the manual handling and health and safety risks associated with hot bitmac make it a far better choice for big utilities etc. shovelling out the back of a wagon or using barrow shoots etc still messy job, clean up etc al adds to the cost plus 1 man on paver can replace a team of four or 5 hand laying.

feature in this months earth movers about a motor way in ireland,using extruder and have a drain in the middle made my inflating a tube while forming then deflating and removing, but m25 been covered before they bury a 1" steel cable in the middle on the central barrier, then have lads following up with stihl saws cutting expansion joints and guys with floats doing any polishing. great bits of kits can do v channel as well.

recent recording of PW1500 laying 60mm of binding course at 1275mm wide. On this job the machine achieved up to 200 tonnes a day.
Ahhhhhh in that case........entirely possible......

i was trying to judge the width of the hopper, you'd hope it was wide enough to take a 2cx bucket full, but again having to double handle the bitmac it's be a good day to do 200 tons haha
