finished my patio and delighted with it. However I have noticed one slab has developed the slightest of wobbles and it's about 5 slabs in from edge. It may fix when I point again, slabs are butted up and have been adding fine sand mixed with cement to edges brushed in. However if it stays how is it easiest fixed? Don't wanna have to lift five slabs out just to correct a very slight wobble?
Hi LL
where on this site did you find the pointing method
adding fine sand mixed with cement to edges brushed in
??
if the slabs are butted i dont see how you can correct it without lifting
if there is a slight gap you can lift 1 slab and removed bedding and put new bedding in
cheers LLL
brushing dry sand and cement in is the devils work :;):
it will fail sure as eggs is eggs
you need to lift the 1 slab up,remove the bedding carefully and re-bed it mate
cheers LLL
Maybe I haven't been clear. I laid 80mm of type 1 followed by 50mm of a sharp sand/cement mix as per this site. The slabs are butted as close as possible, therefore once they had gone off I used sone more of the mix brushed in down the sides, everywhere looks and feels fine apart from this one slab
Yeah if that, that's why I did it just to be belt and braces. Thought about breaking it up but thought impact might dislodge others around it? Have 20 spare
