Mortar for flags question

Patio flagstones (slabs), concrete flags, stone flags including yorkstone and imported flagstones.

Apologies if this is mentioned somewhere but I could no find it.

When preparing the mortar mix for concrete flags I had thought that it would be a good idea include an additive that helped to waterproof the mix (Prevent break up in frosty weather) Is this recommended and if so please point me to where it is described (if it is that is)

Can't see any point myself, waterprofer does not make it frost proof, MSH :)

So is frost damage or anything I should be concerned with and what could I do

if you are worried about adhesion use SBR in the mix and try and point while the bedding is still plastic
