the issue i have with jointing CBP with mortar is that CBP is not very absorbent,and it can end up a real mess in the wrong hands
have seen the pikeys build walls and steps with CBP round here,and invariably it looks pants
I have laid clays as a path edging with a single mortar joint,but i am not convinced a large area would look right

If you opt for the sbr mortar use 1:1 Ronafix sbr : water, added to your cement and sand to give sufficient workability to the mortar.

As stated in the previous posts polymer (sbr) mortar is designed to stick, so avoid getting it where you don't want it.

thanks Simeon, the only one to actualy answer the question i posted in the first place, but i think i am going to try easipoint, arm & leg cost wise, but what price sanity. thanks to all for your input,

easipoint is approx £18 +vat per bag, the gun is approx £38 +vat
I don't know the cost of delivery though as its on my door step so i called in

I would recommend you SBR the side of the paving blocks prior to pointing with a small paint brush to form a key for the pointing

tommy walsh would probably told you to brush dry sand and cement in the joints then sprinkle with water from a watering can

we had a customer once who pressure washed his drive then decided to mix kds with cement and brush it in don't think he'll make that mistake again! :p
