Had to announce to my good friends in the BC, that after 36 years with the lovely Helen, we finally have done the deed in Vermont. USA.
Vermont - the most liberal state in the US - for $100, we got an old friend to marry us.....
The vows he'd concoted suprised us -
Helen, do you promise to give up swearing so much ?
"I do"
Mark, do you promise to finsh the patio by Christmas ?
"I do" (oh bugger) - he got me......

Fantastic fortnight we had - seeing old friends who went to the States and never came back.

Ended up in Boston with Dan Gilbey - haven't seen him since art-school days - what's in his living room? - a collection of cocktail shakers.....

"I do"
I would have to ask Christmas what year?
It's been 16 months since I started my patio and I've still got a few finishing touches that need doing.

Congrats Suggers

Congratulations sugs, another good man lost haha

Patio is not doing bad if it took you 36 years to make an honest woman out of Helen.

You know you can still come on here once it's done haha no excuse now :)

Fair play. Just a document but makes all the difference.
Funnily enough we got hitched in New York last April, under the Statue of Liberty .
Worked out about the same as doing it here. We were in Times Square as they tried to diffuse that car bomb :0

Cheers to you all - and thanks for all the wishes...
Helen & I have reached a certain age (no kids) & suddenly realised. that if one of us dies, the other cannot afford to stay in the house we built together. Inheritance tax @ 40 %.
The wills we made years ago, don't mean a carrott - now we're officially married - no probs - auto goes to your spouse ?
Gonna have a f**k off hoollie to celebrate a bit later this summer - all BC chaps are invited of course - sorry that all spare rooms are taken - bring a tent or book in to local B&B....
Will post when & where, shoretely....
What are the odds on the enigmatic Simeon making it ....?

That is the famous Dan Gilbey above, by the way.
