Need advice on service history

Finally after nearly 8 weeks and having to return my new truck back to arnold clark 5 times, they have finally fixed all the mechanical/registration problems.
But one problem remains, the service history, its non existent, the main dealers dont have it, no one has it, we have traced it right back from when it was bought new up until present day and we cant find it.
The general manager has offered me £250.00 or a free service as a good will gesture as i was sold the car after being told it has full dealer history, to me that is an insult.
so the question is how much does it de-value a vehicle by? ive been told off a mate who owns a mitsubishi dealership in grimsargh that i should be asking for £1500.00 - £2000.00 back as the car is not worth what i paid for it as the mileage cannt be verified.
the thing is the truck has had way to much wrong with it in relation the mileage it has 28k eg gearbox dodgy, seized calipers, oil leaks, turbo boost problems (all fixed now)
Also i have discovered that it has been in accident on the drivers side, a fella i know owns a body shop and hes pretty convinced its had some major work on the drivers side, again no record of this, so i think the truck has had the clock damaged and a new one put in at some point.
Also the only info we can get is that it had a MOT last march and it had done just shy of 14k sounds dodgy to me 14k in 4 years - with 3 previous owners i doubt it, what do you guys think?

firstly, can you confirm what the registration problem was?
It does to me sound like someone has done you over, and i suspect the dealer. 14k in four years, no, not on a truck like that.
Have you gone online and done a £10 hpi check on the vehicle. Did the dealer?
When you say it was sold to you as full history, did you see it advertised somewhere with this wording, or online perhaps?
I would bypass trading standards. they are a useless bunch of t's, and i would opt for money claim online.
I am a bit of a dab hand at taking court action, its so easy to do, and it gets results.
But before you go down that road, there are a few things you need to do.

yes no problem Dan, the registration problem was that the previous owner had a private plate on it, when i went to pick it up it had another standard plate on which i was insured on, anyway they couldnt let me take it as they didnt have the log book for the truck back from the cherish transfer, anyway so i went home and they call and say you can have the truck with the private plates on so i changed my insurance to allow for this then a few weeks later the cherish transfer had been done and was changed back to the standard plates which i then had to swap my insurance over.
the whole thing is an absolute joke and i wish i never bought the damn thing, it werent even what i wanted, i wanted a swb shogun commercial but there mega money.
yes done the hpi check no queries with the mileage but im not so sure.

I bought mine 1 year old 35k on the clock, 14 k in 4 years no way my gran does more than that, my dad was a car dealer for 20 years snd still deals in 4x4 and commercials.
18000 mile services all recorded on the Nissan computers, any main agent will tell you if it's been main agent serviced.
Service is 500 quid each timebut they changes lot of filters and oil, on my 3rd one now.

Contact Nissan head office, and explain the history problem. They should be able to tell you its service history, and give them all the registrations you have had on it.
If it has no history, it means No Nissan agent has ever serviced it.
this rings true, and is why you have had so many problems.
I know several people with cabstars of various ages, and only one has had problems. He never ever serviced it since he had it! enough said.
When You have this information, you will need to write a letter to the dealer you purchased from.
(Incidentally, was it a Nissan dealer you got it from? if so, Nissan uk will be able to help too.)
Your letter needs to explain all the problems start to finish, giving the time lines for all incidents, and end this letter with what you want at the end, i.e. £2000 back, as there is no history, which is how much you would be out of pocket when you sell it!.
once you have given the dealer the chance to pay, and they are not forthcoming, you then need to write back giving them 14 days to pay, or you will take court action.
9 times out of 10, it works.
there is no need to pay a solicitor in my opinion.

You could always try the Wayback Machine

And take a look at any archive of the homepage for the website where you saw the advert, and then attempt to navigate down towards where your advert was located.
Occasionally you get lucky, and although you are looking at the archive of the homepage, they have managed to archive some of the pages & content leading off of that.
Failing that, try and have a Google for the item and the website that had the advert, but look at any Google cache result as opposed to new or updated content.
Example:
A search string such as “Red tractor with go faster stripes £?? Tractors R Us�
But look at or open the “cached� result in Google, instead of the main link.

dynamically created content is normally excluded from caching etc by robots to prevent to much data being stored, example being adverts etc where there is no real benefit to store them unlike knowledge based content like here.

A guy at work had a Navara 05 reg. It blew the crank a couple of weeks ago, 5000 miles outside of its 90000 mile warranty and 3 months outside the 5 years one. He was really miffed, a new drop in would have cost him 3-4k.
Called up Nissan, lo and behold, they asked him for £300 up front and a new engine was on its was for fitting in 2 weeks. So, they're not a bad crowd, you just have to get the right bloke by the throat
