ha ha, its a ridge beam i had to cut to marry up to the A frame and rigde beam that was left in place.

i refused to build a gable yesterday off the very same towers as you have there dylan

no disrespect to you or your work mate (which looks top notch)
but why risk death for the sake for £150 of proper scaffold

those towers are handy for certain things ( i gave DDD a load last year)
but guard rail? toe board?
I wouldnt want a man's life on my conscience for that sake of a few pounds

sorry if i am coming over wrong but the guy that wanted me to use the same towers was arguing that he couldnt afford proper scaffold
so i said "get some one else"
caused a lot of friction
