I got loads of steel bars with the mould, the guy said their should be enough to make 200 posts or 300 boards but I can imagine they will be heavy with all the water in the cast as they are heavy enough when I have used them from the builders yard.cookiewales wrote:Leeco wrote: Ment to put 6 but hit 5 instead :;):
they were the item that cost the most to make ie steel plastic spacers then stacking so no chips and breakiges plus heavey to move around :p

Call me soft, but here goes, you make a fortune remember me - If you're doing this to help your dad, then maybe he can make them for the Pound, you sell them to your clients for four. First off, - yes, sell the moulds. If not, go here. your mix should be 2 sharp sand for 1 building sand, same amount 6mm stne, a half cup plasticiser and cement for 2:1:1 mix (about 30Mpa) Wet mix, normal builders mixer. Mix then add About 100gms Colour mix/preferably sandstone oxide, get even colour, place either 10% or 90% in wheelbarrow. Add enough oxide into remaining mix to darken colour by 1x. Add to wheelbarrow. Take a spade and roll the 2 colours in the barrow about 3 times - like folding whipped cream into souffle. The more you roll the less distinct the colour diff.
Place mould on vibrating table, fill with mix and vibrate for about 30 seconds. Place aside on FLAT surface to dry for at least a day, depending on temp and size. do not move while curing. Do not cast below 6 deg C, or when freezing overnite, unless you're working inside. See Harristone for pigments. Have fun.

A guy on ebay sells it and by looking at his colour chart and Harristones colour chart it looks like his buying it from them and doubling the price :laugh:cookiewales wrote:Leeco wrote:lutonlagerlout wrote:its a close cousin of yorkstone
