£ 30 m2 for paving is expensive Trevski but i must say it looks the business, you and your wife should be very proud to have achieved an excellent finish with the paving

using sleepers as the riser was a mistake but hey you can always change them in a few years time if there is any substantial movement

Suggers - The thought never crossed my mind, once you get hooked on this site that's it.

It's great to hear the comments, yes I've made a mistake or two and now will figure out Plan B, the great thing is that others who want to do what i have done will learn from experiences just like I learned from those who went before me.

If the wife thought I had finished then I would only get another set of jobs to do, mistakes are great, they mean i get to play all over again.

We are in 2 minds at the mo, liked the sheen after using the GftK but somehow the natural look works well too. Budget is too low at the minute for sealant so will decide before the end of summer.

That said, we had a small spill of heating oil last year and got away with it, that alone tends to make me think we should seal it with a matt product.

Be very carefull thinking about sealents,take good advice and don't use to goo from any DIY shed.

MSH - You are dead right, I emailed Tony last year for his advice and he had suggested the very range you have posted.

The info on this site regarding sealants is very interesting and it seems to be a bit of a minefield of which product suits slate over, say sandstone, matt or shiny etc. The DIY store gloop seems to be the source of many a tale of woe.

Through this site I was also interested to find out about the timing of the year for application to avoid the white crystals and so on. Like anything it seems, you get what you pay for and skimping on sealant would just ruin all the work and effort.
