I have to do a fence for a friend, and he wants a gate made out of a lap panel, any tips, and is it as easy as it looks, any advice on the best hinges to use. and do you have to reinforce the the back with braced timber.
sorry dont want to be arguamentative but the picture shown should be an inverted z. IE the gates braces should run horizontily from the top outer upper edge to the bottom inner edge the gate shown here has all ts weight on the top left hand corner and has no support in this area a general rule of thumb is the weight is allways greatest on the outer top edge of the gate and the weight should be supported from this point to the bottom ie; as tonys sketch but the hinges on the other side....
cheers all hung but it took longer, then the 7 panels to fix, it sticks a little bit and i found it hard to do as i was guessing what to do. any chance of a guide to hang a outside door. for next time if there is a next time.
