Tarmac drive - Sticky surface

had drive tarmac over concrete on friday 9th july now today 4days later seems like blobs of tar in places all over patchy the largest one wet tar sticky to touch comes off on fingers have not driven on drive yet dont even really want to walk on it as will pick up on shoes contractor says it will dry out is this so it seems to me mix is not right it doesnt look compact enough any ideas mumps :O

mumps try not to be inpatient as all the help on this site comes from working men who give there time for free, we all have our own buisness or are employed in the industry,most reply come in evening,we have a couple of tarmac experts around davel,bobbio,and a few others, a pic will help to advise the problem MSH

saying tarmac, which is a trade name is very generic.
bitmac asphalt etc is what we refer to it as, did you not have a written spec which stated 100mm of 40mm base course, topped off with 30mm of 6mm wearing course etc.
if the contractor doesn;t know what he laid then i dont hold out much hope.

is it spray and chip? ie: have they sprayed liquid bitumen on the existing surface and then spread chips on top?
if not ask to see the ticket from the asphalt plant they got the material from.even the gypos know the difference between the different materials available.
i presume they are a reputable contractor?

i only patch holes we dig in bitmac, or lay base with a 360 digger.
i sub in our surfacing lads to do any bitmac work leave it to the pro's, bobbi o and Dave_L or big jim are the surfacing lads on this forum.

It's very hot here in the UK at the moment - this is causing some problems with freshly laid tarmac drives etc - so patience is key here.
