I have inherited a pattern imprinted drive, which is 5/10 years old? Unfortunately I put salt down on it this winter and as a result this has lifted the colour in places and exposed the pebbled concrete underneath. It is a ashler design and some of the edges have also crumbled, it has also got one or two cracks on it and the colour is again starting to crumble in these places. I have had one or tqo paving contractors out who sday the whole drive needs to be dug up and in other words to start again. Large parts of the drive are still ok and obviously I don't want to go to the expense of paying out £4,000 plus. I understand any repair will not be perfect but a half decent job will be acceptable, which is the best forward? Plus can you talk me through in detail how to undertake the repairs?

thanks

thank you Giles I thought for a minute I had worded my question wrong

if patterned concrete contractors are advising that the existing driveway needs to be replaced then it must be in a bad state and beyond practical repair and not cost effective for them to carry out the work and above all that end up putting their name to your driveway

£50 m2 is the norm in the northwest for patterned concrete, even as low as £45 m2

PIC is not a trial and error format
any mistakes cost money
ask these folk pics uk but AFAIK its not a DIY job

You could consider a thin decorative surfacing applied on top of the PIC - subject to its suitability.

See Ronadeck Resin Bound Surfacing and Ronadeck Resin Bonded Surfacing at driveway surfacing
