beleive it or not pete,most of the lads are out grafting till 5 then they have to pick the kids up,cook the dinner,wash up
then they can log on and help people like yourself
dave L ,bobbi o ,loudog and colordrives are all tarmac experts and will be along shortly
as a builder any tarmac that gives is not a good sign

Yes, that is the correct pen of bitumen for use in a bitmac for driveways. its very rare for the material to be at fault when a failure occurs in a road surface.without pics i would guess the most likely reason for problems with your driveway surface are insufficient sub-base/depth of tarmac and or poor workmanship

Turning vehicles such as a transit on a 6mm surface course residential driveway is asking for trouble.....

Without seeing the driveway in question it is hard to say - but if turning of vehicles (car) in a tight spot is going to be a common occurrence then I would specify a 6mm SMA material - and if it is of transit-sized vans to be turning, I would specify a 10mm SMA - probably in a 50pen.
