Well I drove to a number of BMs today that supply Marshalls, mainly so I could see with my own eyes what the tumbled Duos looked like colour wise and to see if there was any way I could blend them in with the existing. After a trip to an indy, and TP without luck I went to a BuildCenter (are they American or just bad at spelling?) who also didn't have any, but they had a look on the computer and advised Epsom branch had a few.
I took a trip over there and parked up, as I got out I saw some loose blocks on a pallet which looked distinctly like the my Drivesett 50 Harvest Buffs. I went to the counter and got the guy to come out and to look, he confirmed they were the old style (185 240x160's) and that they had be delivered by Marshalls in error - they delivered them with new stye 120x160 and 160x160 - the customer returned them in disgust!!!
I needed 180 and they had 185!! I then checked out the Duo's and actually the Cotswold wasn't a bad match for the most yellowy of the harvest buff. As I only need a total of 60 in small and large I think they will blend in pretty well!!
To cap it all they also had enough old style pennant greys to also extend my bordedr identically. Happy days!!!
We had 7 magpies in the garden this morning and were wondering at the time what that is supposed to represent. Wel lI don't know if its good luck, but just in case I got the wife to buy some lottery tickets for the first time in about 10 years....
