Gaskin anyone?

Foul and surface water, private drains and public sewers, land drains and soakaways, filter drains and any other ways of getting rid of water.

I am having to connect a portion of clay pipe to an existing clay pipe socket and I am told that I am going to have to pack it like in the ol' days.

I realize 'Flexseal' do various couplings but I am not sure if I should be trying dry lay the clay and force one of these over the socket.

I am also not able to angle grind the socket off to give a straight join.

I would like to keep the joint simple and would like to know if I am still able to buy gaskin - or can I use 'Plumbers Mait'

You should be able to get hold of gaskin at a specialist Civils Merchant, such as Cooper Clarke in Bolton, WT Burdens or Parkers (both nationwide), or from a clay pipe manufacturer such as Naylor or Hepworth.

I can't recall the last time we bought any - it must be well over 10 years ago. Tempus really does fugit!
