Looking for some advice please. I am currently having a large area paved with Indian Stone, Raj Green. The flags have all been laid and they started pointing on Sat. The area that was pointed yesterday had not dried off completely and we unfortunately had a very heavy downpour of rain for most of last night. Consequently the area which was pointed yesterday looks awful now.

In all fairness the guy who is doing the pointing has acknowledged that the area done yesterday will have to be redone. I just want to know if he should totally remove it and start afresh or if there is a chance he will try and patch up over the top. I guess I just want to be prepared if he tries to take shortcuts and felt if I got some info from the people here then I would be better prepared for any discussion/debate which may take place.

He started work on the next section today and has left the area from yesterday alone for the moment. Obviously the work done today and Sat is like night and day from yesterdays results and I am pleased with it.

Any advice would be gratefully received

Thanks

as Rab has said, the sand and cement pointing wil have to be removed and be re-done when the weather is set fair, if it is resin pointed then follow the intructions by the manufacturers,
Hope this helps all the best

Thanks a lot for the replies. It looks as though I was worried for no reason. They did exactly as you say and removed the damaged pointing and re did it. I just wanted to be prepared in case there was any problem.
This is a big job for me and I have been reading the site for a while so that it would appear that I knew what I was talking about. Haven't got a clue really but so far I am pleased with the result.
Looking forward to getting some flower pots arranged and I have bought a couple of monoliths to set it off a bit. Really appreciate the help.
