I have fitted a new toilet in the loft of my house and run the 4" plasic soil stack down the wall and under the path up to the exsiting clay soil stack which feeds the other toilet. As the point of connection for the new soil stack is below that of the exsiting (for the other toilet) how do I tap the plastic pipe into the clay pipe? Smashing the clay seems drastic. I also need to get a inspection chamber set up, but am again unsure how to go about this. Can anyone help with some advice. thanks.

Wickes do a neat plastic inspection chamber that uses clip on sections to build up the height. You top it off with their aluminium cover. To fit this, you need to remove a section of the clay pipe, long enough to accomodate the diameter of the chamber. Use an angle grinder to do this.

The clay to plastic connection is made using 2 of the Wickes connectors made for this job.

It will all become clearer if you go to Wickes and have a look at the fittings.

They probably sell similar fittings at builders merchants but I get stuff like this from Wickes because they have a branch near to me and they open Sunday's.

There's an animation on the main website showing how an access chamber can be inserted into an existing pipeline.

Normally, when two toilets need to be linked, the junction is made in the soil stack above ground, but, if it must be done underground due to the site layout, then you need to use an access chamber.
