I live adjacent to a private road and all 50 houses pay a voluntary levy of £300 per year which goes in to the residents funds
(i think there are 12 more that wont pay)
anyway this pot soon mounts up and every 5 years or so they get the road tarred and chipped
they also recently installed electric gates etc to stop chavs like me from getting in (only i know the secret combination :;): )
but the bottom line is it will cost some money
cheers LLL
, in luton, there is some nice houses on that road
i dont what to go against what people have already said but i do want to add that plannings wont do the trick, you'll be back in the same position in no time depending on the traffic, i have the same roadway to my yard, i have tried everything over the 3 years ive been there and have yet to find anything that beats really dusty crushed concrete. cheaapest possible thing you can find too, we pay £5 a ton. we dont bother compacting it but leave it in the hole and let the vehicles do the compacting and then add again 6 months later, after a year it'll be a good surface and cheap to maintain, works well under hard rain too.
