Surface for front garden parking area - Can i use dtp1 or dtp2 sub base only

Setts and cobbles, tarmac, asphalt, resin systems, concrete whether it's plain, patterned or stencilled, gravels, etc.

Hi Brew and members

Great site, very useful and has given me a laugh this morning.

On topic of sub bases I'm creating additional parking area for a car and wondered if I can use sub base without anything over the top.

The idea is to allow for good drainage and simple surface without the need for anything fancy.

The area is about 4m sq and 100 to 150mm deep over clay soil and bordered by tarmac/cooncrete 3 sides and timber edge on the other.

Thanks

Pete

Hi Pete and welcome.
If your going to compact the type1 down well and have retaining edge all the way around then you could put a layer of gravel 20mm over the top. just to make it look a bit better. Other than it doesn't look so good you could just have typpe one. :)

Thanks for your very quick replies.
I'll try it and see how it looks first.
