I need to lay ducting in/under a slab in a kitchen to feed and lpg gas line to an island unit for a gas hob. An lpg agent has told me this can only be done if the duct is accessable and openable which clearly under the slab would not be possible. Can anyone point me in the right direction of how one can get an lpg supply to an island unit whilst complying with the appropriate regulations.
Thanks

i guess the only work around you could use would be something like a linear drain buried a few inches below ground with a pre formed removeable slab that could sit on top then tiled to match the floor? its a little bit of work but would do the job and leave the pipe accessible at all times, the linear drain is ideal as it has its lip without the grate in place, you could even go to the local forge and have a top cover made in a similar style to recessed manhole cover

we've just done a gas feed to the island kitchen, albeit we have habitable basements so gas pipe runs in the void between floors. i'll ask our plumber tomorrow. he's all gas safe etc and really good.

Thank you for your responses but my partner wants the hob in and island unit even though it is extra work including extraction etc. The linear drain looks a good idea will look into it further but don't know how it would work with underfloor heating as m thought was the pipe and duct would be under or in the slab. The lpg was going to be available because we would have lpg heating but a gas bottle would have the same restrictions. She may end up with an electric hob in the end.
