so update

bloody talk talk internet went off yesterday

watched the cctv, see the guy plain as day walk across the site, shorts white socks and trainers and sunglasses, have a nosey around, start the big machine with a key and move it back, the way he yerks it around he's not an experienced operator. then searched rd the mini digger and finds a key, non of us knew there was a key there, must have been hidden from previous owner. gets on his mobile, then goes out of shot, can see something pull up, they mess with the gate lock and chain for 2 mins then it falls off. gates open can see a brand new trailer tracks it out etc.

its back in our yard now, like i say only stands us at 3k but its handy when we need a little one, our kubota's are all on programmed keys

and the big machines are gettign better but our js130 is only 2 years old now, was the best part of 80K and any key can start it, thats poor. but they think its to big to steal etc. the new doosans and hitachi big machines have single keys or key pads.

alot of the thinking over the same key thing was for plant managers, hire companies etc or delivery drivers or even just big firms so everyone could have a key etc.

i'll see if i can get the video onto cd and put it on youtube,

the coppers came with a usb drive and took a copy of it, you can see the guys face clear as day on the hd cctv.

Giles if you broadcast that video it could harm any prosecution so be careful ask the copper first. A lot of the plant I hire use that Kosran system it's a pain when you forget the scan the fob first but it does work well. I have managed to hotwire a Kubota before the engine started fine but the hydraulics wouldn't work. It was a desparate attempt I'd driven the guts of 80miles and left the keys at home didn't get much done that day.

having a good week just sat in my lounge watching hot tub time machine heard a noise looked out my window and 2 guys breaking into the back bit of my navara, soon as they saw the window go they legged it, police been out but so many streets around here to find them. nothing taken and only hand tools and shovels, work boots etc no damage either think they just forced the latch by hand on the pop up cover.

You're a tough guy Giles - don't let the bastards grind you down - Can't you host your CCTV vid somewhere other than u-tube? - can't wait to see it - they're well professsional now down here -

On a lighter note -
Ongoing battle with ragwort in the back field - leave huge pulled pile of the stuff covered with tarp & newish wheelbarrow resting on top to hold it down - went back this am & wheelbarrow nicked!!
Girl on horse told me white pick-up, pickey stamps on ancient barb wire & runs & gets me barra. M*th*rf*ck*rs.
