Edging a patio - What to set block pavers into

I was thinking of setting these in gritsand and cement as the edge of a patio laid on compacted gritsand ( no cement or mortar). The builder's yard recommended to mix the cement with aggregate. Which would you recommend?

Strong wet sand cement will be fine adding stone will make the job harder and no better.
Can't see it from my house
