Sealing block paving - Not sure about sealing

I am presently having a large driveway block paved with Beta Silver Haze blocks (from Bretts). So far it does look good, although lighter than I originally thought it would be. My contractor wants to put a sealant down as soon as he is finished. According to the Brett website it recommends waiting 12 to 18 months before doing this. My worry is that if I don't have it sealed now it will show up every little mark, stain etc but if I do then I go against supplier recommendation. My contractor, who is very good, says the 12 month wait is not necessary. I have also heard that some sealants can cause the bricks to go yellow. Some advice would be really appreciated, especially if anyone has experience of the same type of block? My contractor has not laid this type and colour of bricks in such a large area before. I would wait a few months just to be safe any dirt and marks can be easily removed before it's done. A little patience could save a ruined driveway so best not chance it.

i normally wait before sealing a driveway, at the end of the day you must follow the guidelines and ive not done this in the past and it was regretful. the blocks need to be as dry as possible and most suppliers recommend 4 weeks dry weather before laying it down, this can take a year or two in this country. But the main issue with sealing too soon as that the dried sand in the joints needs a little time to settle.
