had a problem with a hydraulic hose going today on the skip loader, and as a result, it has dripped oil on about 6 or so clay pavers on a driveway.
I am taking in the pressure washer , and someone has given me some degreaser (they use it to clean a pig roast), but is there any other thing i could try, such as washing up liquid??

detergent or solvent is what you need to lift the oil. jizer or gunk engine cleaner or traffic film remover, let it soak stain up then wash away, MSH
paving, mini-crusher, mini-digger hire and groundwork

If that fails take out the contaminated blocks and turn them over as long as the under side isn’t to stained from the grit sand , as most clay blocks I have used in the past can be laid either way up, and are really easy to extract using two pointing trowels and a rubber hammer. Or maybe swap the oiled stained blocks with blocks from a discrete area of the drive.

It worked on the clays I stained, can’t remember what manufactures blocks they were tho, ive done it more that once. 9/10 times the under side was too stained by the grit sand to flip them over so I swapped them with blocks where a wheelie bin would be kept, or under plant pots, any general place that wont be seen on a day to day basis.

well i have tried today, and the clay pavers have come up ok. the tarmac on the road, not so good., but at least the householder is happy.
He said the residents committee were out last night looking at the road and complaining.
Its not even a private road!!
