Thanks to Mr Lutons pillar pictures on here I decided to have a go myself at doing a mitered joint instead of being able to see the perforations in the end brick of the headers.

I'm quite happy with the outcome. Not bad for a desk jockey?

Thanks for the replies guys.

It was quite quick. I did a square on a old slab measuring 215 by 215. I then drew a line through the diagonals and used this line to mitre each brick remembering to add 5mm extra to each brick to give an 10mm gap with a stihl saw.

I then put it dry back on the slab to make sure it looked right.

The longest part was cutting each brick .

So it probably took me 15 mins longer than it would have done with the perferations showing.

A nice job. Maybe i would of left the half brick ,( that you mitred ) as one, as it is already a weak point.

very nice finish (on the whole wall), the advantage to "looking very nice but being a weak point" is the call back for a chargeable repair!!
