Picture framing/staining indian limestone - Cement pointing stains on limestone slab

Patio flagstones (slabs), concrete flags, stone flags including yorkstone and imported flagstones.

I have just had a black indian limestone patio laid and the contractors laid some of the patio in the wet and pointed it with what looks to be a spoon. Consequently most of the slabs now have terrible seeping of the cement onto the edges. Also the cement pointing is not uniformly black and there are white stains coming out in places. Any advice on how to make this shonky job look better.

that "spoon " may have been a jointing iron
should never point in the wet though
as colm has said pictures will help analysis
