Resin an option?

Setts and cobbles, tarmac, asphalt, resin systems, concrete whether it's plain, patterned or stencilled, gravels, etc.

agree with mr Lout, not really control cracks expansion joints are they

If you are looking to reuse the concrete, crushing and putting down as a subbase for blocks/mac/or before new concrete and resin finish would be your best bet.

Yup, LLL and MC are right; if you lay a thin bonded finish on top of a cracked and probably live surface, it too will crack, look awful, and fail early.

I am a head gardener, and have just laid a traditional gravel surface of 1850 sq m, in a new kitchen garden. That is, a 20mm surface dressing of 6-10mm needingworth gravel on a dot1 sub base, carboniferous limestone, 30mm to dust, 100mm thick. sub sub base is crushed rock that nearly reaches the chalk bedrock. The garden gets mostly foot traffic, occasional traffic with 2 x 4 John Deere buggy when mulching. My boss has seen what he calls a glued on surface in Italy, which appears to be a treatment called SuperSeal, from the USA. I think its a dust prevention measure. But he now wants to 'glue' my gravel down. Can I do this in retrospect, his afterthought, with ronadeck or similar? He's frightened the gravel is going to wash away, though I'm not. Please can somebody help?

You would have to strip the surface again if you want to go that way.... Why didnt he just do that in the first place..

Hi Irish paving, you might well ask! Isnt there a quote that goes something like 'I'm tired of other peoples lack of foresight becoming my emergency?' I suspected it might involve stripping it off and starting again, but the boss always knows best, erm....

Hi

Lin and I have spoken and agreed that strip off, lay permeable concrete or tarmac base followed by Ronadeck Fast Grip or Ronadeck Resin Bonded Surfacing are the options.

Good luck Lin (apologies if I've misspelled your name).
