All the right letters were there -just not quite in the right order.
Council workmen putting Keep Clear markings on a road got in a muddle and put KEER CLEAP instead.
The 2ft deep letters P and R were switched around 24 hours later, but not before the error had been spotted by residents in the road in Royston, Hertfordshire.
