Do a search using the button to the right hand side of the top of the page - there's dozens of posts about the few pros and multitudinous cons associated with <spit>Travertine.

Can you guess which camp I belong to? :D

its more suited for a floor in a conservatory, it looks very nice when it first gets laid on a outside patio but due to the light colour it soon looks very dirty

I laid a load of the bradstone travertine (in fact, the job is featured in the bradstone brochure) and it a manufactured slab. Lovely to lay, but when its new and the sun is on it, it dazzles you.
I gather the customer has to continually pressure wash it

was it sealed jay?
seems strange that hard wearing stone can go green yet soft as soft can be travertine retains its gleam?
maybe the sealer is the key

I have also laid loads of Travertine and had no problems, however all natural paving should be sealed with a good sealer, that also means Indian stone.
Not everybody does it but the fossil stone comes green out of the crate and it is a waste of money not to seal it.
You have to cut your grass , paint your house but tell the customer to seal his patio or drive and they dont seem to care.
If i remember me and Tony had this discussion when i meet him at Ruscrete about Travertine, i bow to your knowledge Tony but this time i think we will agree to disagree

I will now take a few moments to pray that none of my Travertine customers ring me with a problem, please god dont make me beg to Tony for forgiveness
