Brickwall pillar - Topping it

hi,,

Am planning on topping my wall pillars with tiles then bricks laying on their sides to finish. Where do I get these tiles from as the paver guy has no idea!!

Hi mate
We use re-claimed clays in Brum, most clay tiles with nibs on look good, old just look the part straight away!

Try a salvage yard some places call them quarry tiles.

roof tiles generally have a curve in them and so can be a pain to look good on pier caps
all depends on the bricks you are using and the block paving

I'm using brindle paving with charcoal colour double edging. He is going to get a charcoal brick to top the pillar, but hasn't a clue where to get the tiles from!!

Look in yellow pages etc for any local reclaimers. Am sure they will have something that could be used

agree with dan,TBH i am worried if this guy doesn't know where to get creasing tiles and blue staffs from
he doesn't sound like a bricklayer to me and I wouldn't let him near a trowel let alone a wall

even wickes Sells Blue staffs! I was looking tonight as I need 55 for a greenhouse base, and I am avoiding using a certain local builders merchants, and its too far to go to Luton to butterfields.
