Labour cost per metre for indian sandstone

Hi guys, I have worked as a flagger for nearly 10years for a local firm but have Recently been laid off.

Did a job a while back (for the firm) on a house, Indian Sandstone round the back. The client has since seen me around town and has asked how much would it be to continue it all round and up the driveway to the road.

Almost certain to have the job but unsure as to what is the going rate per metre as I never was involed in the pricing of jobs for the firm.

I sort of know how long the preping going to take but have no idea on metreage labour price.

So has anybody any idea of the going rate in the North West?

well it depends what you want to earn
I like to earn £150 + per day so i charge around £20 per mtre just to lay the flags,ground works being extra
most jobs we do with indian stone end up around £100 per metre inclusive of everything

I was thinking along the lines of £20ish myself.

Presuming you're in Luton and quoting southern prices though.

What do the northern lads think? is £20 on the button or a bit steep?.

work out the materials cost, and then how much time you`ll take to do the job (it will take longer than you think) and then decide on how much you want to make as profit, just dont rip the arse out of it.

you seem to indicate that your flagging the drive, so you'll need to bed them on 100mm concrete which will add to the cost.

90 to 100 supply and lay is about right for a good job ps always do a good job its the only way :;): :;):

how much can you reasonably lay in a day on your own

divide the top by the bottom = your labour rate

Im in the north west, i charge £100.00 per metre to supply and lay inc groundworks (no vat............yet!), maybe thats abit steep but ive not lost a indian sandstone job yet
