how do you get £1000 for 3 days for 2 men, one being a labourer on what 60-100 a day so £300

so you charge £250 a day to flag etc?

i or the lads go out with a 3 ton machine for £250 a day up in the grim north

150 for smaller machine.

north/south thing lots of competition up here lower overheads etc but £333 a day sound expensive to me for flagging and labourer

you wont get much work up here at that rate SF to many ppl undercutting doing half arse jobs,

its hard work maintaing high standards of work when people can undercut a grand and do a half arsed job

£300 a day for a pro and labourer seems to be the going rate down in Bournemouth. Can get a very good man and machine (2T ish) Kubota for £150.

in the south lads earn twice as much as they do up here, you have to consider these things in pricing. if you told a customer london prices in glasgow they would have a heart attack :D

I should have made it a bit clearer about the labour i appologise, a friend is putting a fence round the extended patio and for him thats £120 which leaves me £380. I know its not alot to you lot but im trying to get my foot in the door.

There's no digger hire on this its knuckle scrapeing access with the barrow to a back garden i cant even get a micro in.

As it happens she didn't expect it to be as expensive as it was, iv told her to get a few other quotes and get back to me!

Nah i wont drop it, she's asking me if i can lose money on materials but its imposible i always work on 100mm base 50mm bed for foot traffic. Seguested fabric and gravel with a smaller paved area but she's not keen.

Not to worry though just dropped on a good job that someone else has been booted off got at least 3 weeks covered now before maintenance takes off.

Well i know this won't help you lot up north but i was charging £400 a day for me and my mate, i wont say labour she may read this and i will be right in it, however she is the best labour i have ever had, just nags like the wife so not all good ( sorry sally ), but £300 to £350 per day is the norm, but try buying a house down here

So: you're only paying yourself a ton per day, SF? I assume Sal won't work for less than three! :D
