I am not keen on the design teams choice of buff colours for the resin driveway to be honest Giles, bit of a clash with the orangey/red brickwork

much rather have 3 x 2 natural flags than buff :D

its a contemporary looking house,or modern or whatever so i guess a modern finish would look good
CBP can look a bit cheap on an expensive house

that was sales guy pushing those giving the hole sale patter telling me about its permeable qualities and how they just lay it on 150mm type 1 mot,

he got lost when i enquired about single size 803 with no fines, for a permeable sub base.

we are not going to block pave it, its going to be sets, gravel stabilised or grass stabalised around protected tress. maybe some nice flags laid on a 100mm concrete pad. bentleys are heavy haha

I thought resin based gravel needed something harder to be laid on like a existing concrete base or tarmac or in your situation where there is no sub base a reinforced concrete sub base

I would not of thought a base of MOT type 1 was suitable for laying resin based gravel on top of no matter how well you rolled it there would still be some settlement

Mick is right, you'll need a subase and a decent layer of binder to lay on.

Cheaper to go for two coat tarmac works ;)

The only way you can lay resin bound straight onto MOT is to use grids other wise it has to be laid onto a hard base like concrete or tarmac. If you want to speak to some one about it Giles pm me and I will give you a number for someone who can tell you the ins and outs about it.

from the prices i had for resin i could do granite sets on a past job a footpath to a tennis court had to form base for them type one 100mm concrete 100mm good finish 4x1 wooden edge for them to work to and still had to pay 100pound m2 somewhere i think i did there work for them am not a big fan the big 4x4 20inch tyres x5 s ext will churn it granite sets you can spin a 20 ton plus 360 steel tracks and it will laugh at you :;):
