I bought a Bosch a while ago, but within about 2months the reverse gear stopped working, on inspection there just seemed to be a tiny plastic connection that had broke, so I thought I would just give the wickes brand a go,(as I'd heard they were quite robust) got to say it hasn't missed a beat all the handle fixings etc are metal, it's a good weight & has oodles of power, A bit noisy but warantee'd for 2 years , does anyone know who makes them ??

was it a green bosch (diy) or blue (professional)?
a web search would seem to indicate draper make some of the drills for wickes

slightly off topic, but i am renovating a house ATM
i had a price to supply and fit some french doors of £750 plus vat
just browsing online as you do and i came across wickes french doors in upvc
so i went and bought a set
£299 for 1200 by 2100 and it cost me £150 for a window fitter and fixings etc
thats a big saving and the door is british standard etc
the only cavaet i would add is that it was bloody heavy and although i can fit windows,i would rather use a pro for doors
IMo wickes, homebase and magnets have closed the gap on the traditional BMs
