are you adding your 10% on materials then adding say 20% to the total as profit or ust taking the 10% on materials as your profit.

its getting hard up here with 3 quotes on jobs margins are getting to like 5% if that, i dont add anymore on materials just quote at retail and take the saving as part of the profit on them.

have you factored an extra day say contingency, bad weather, hit a drain right where you want the patio etc

what part the world you in? out local independent will deliver upto 4 loose a load on tipper. but all big nationals now no longer have the old aggregate bays all bagged up and delivered on wagons now.

saying that bags have their advantages, clean tidy easily re-handled and moved around.

Have you tried these people.

Not saying they will be cheaper (might be dearer!) but worth a call to see if your present supplier is competitive.

you dont seem to have allowed any time to point the slabs will, 53m2 will need a dry 4-5 hrs for 1 bloke.
there will be people somewhere on your turf that deliver, although giles once you get sarf of the watford gap,we havent got any quarries
i would of thought you could get 10 tonne loose for around £250 tops
is there no digging out to do will?
will you need a skip for all the rubbish thats generated?

Have you tried Scott Brothers (Colin) in Aylesford near Maidstone for your slabs, 01622 717007 - cheaper than Bradstone and good quality - they would/could also point you to agregate suppliers.

600 by 600 slabs mr.cook :;):
lot less jointing than injun stone or setts
and i would be using a marshalltown jointing iron on concrete slabs rather than a trowel
but admittedly it would be more like a day for 1 experienced man
thing is if you have been on the knees for 5 hours the rest of the day is a bust
I did 68m2 of 450 by 450s last year on a very very long sunday, lets just say i wasnt doing a lot of dancing on the monday :)
