Whilst out and about today, we popped in to Cautrac in Bolton, my mate is buying a digger and i francied a look round anyway, in the yard there was a Komplet crusher the 3.6t one i think, ex demo they are £33000.00 how can they be so much money? Is there a huge margin in this sort of machinery?

Sound alot of brass to me!

If you could keep it busy though, say at least 75% of the time, then i think it would be worth it, youd have to factor in a wagon to move the machine + digger for loading.

Ive got a mate with a grab wagon who stock piles hardcore, if i had the money, (minus my debts) i think i would have go, theres no one round my end that does it that i am aware of apart from the big 30-80t crushers.

we run komplet crushers... yes they are a bit pricey but to be honest no other mini crusher comes close, and weve tried them all. not only expensive to buy though, they also cost quite a bit to maintain and keep running. spares prices are currently horrendous as these machines are italian, so the weak pound has pushed the price of imported spares to silly levels.

dn groundworks if you get one of these machines let me know as we work nationwide and could poss put some work your way... we do not sub out to anyone with any other mini crushers.

simon

however, the fact they have a variable speed feed belt means they can process rubble more quickly and easily than any other mini crusher. we have ours lifted by 6" and a larger conveyor fitted to make them better still.

nice looking bit of kit but you'd need a lot of work to justify the outlay, the komplet or red rhino better size, have you tried the red rhino or bav track etc

is this the rubble buster you mentioned on my other post

guy on local farm is herbst trailer dealer he has these that you tow with tractor, can run off pto or own engine.

Image

think they're about 40k, but might only be a screen not a crusher

rubblebuster is south african version of rm60, but smaller feed size (500mm max). we used to have the rm60 (600mm max), but like you say need lot of work to justify cost of 95k plus vat! also, as it is an impact crusher (hammers), wear costs are horrific. set of hammers was 1600, could get through set in 2 months.

started out with red rhino, waste of time in my opinion. nuff said. bav 025 not a bad machine, we use them for certain specific contracts, eg we are contracted to crush waste tar pitch for a large clay pigeon manufacturer. comes off their plant in large lumps. we pecker, do a primary crush thru bav 025, than up another conveyor into komplet to reduce to 25mm down. they then resend thru plant to come out as clay pigeons.

youre right giles, the herbst is just a screener, not a crusher. nice bit of kit though.

there was talk a while back of good old marcus clay letting me a demo on the o25 and the 009 so i could write up a review on here.
At the time, there was a lot or argy bargy going on about various misconceptions, and capabilities, and whilst i can honestly say the red rhino is a waste of time , i couldnt compare the guidetti, komplet or bavtrak without a test.
It has to be said the guidetti beats the rhino, but the spec on the o25 bavtrak is such that it has a larger input size, and twin jaws to cope much faster.
I guess its like buying a car. its all down to preference

not sure which one dan has,but his machine beats the red rhino by a factor of 50% in ease of use and productivity.
another m8 has a big one that he loads with a machine, I am sure they are about £400 a day to rent
but a lot of maintenance and transport costs involved

old red rhino 5000 series better than new shape one, guidetti very impressive not that dear £23k for demonstrator (dn groundworks p.v.dobsons tractor place near you kendal sells them had one on demo) komplet ok if feed material is same size we crush a lot of flags all different sizes so doesnt handle them very well and conveyor too short would be good as a secondary crusher, bavtrack not tried one but seen it on internet looks like it crushes like small ones ???

Im not planning on buying anything anytime soon, just wonderin why is the machine so expensive?! for £36000 id want a digger included in that aswell!

Looking at it and using one its not like its an advanced piece of engineering, quite basic actually, i dont think they are worth that sort of money IMO.

But i do like the whole crushing concept, think it is a good idea and ran alongside a groundworks business i think it could be viable little earner on the side.

the cost of my crusher amazes me, but when you look at the technology behind mine, you can see why.
Crushers destroy themselves. its in their nature, and they have to be built strong enough to last a decent lenght of time before some major works are required.
A lot of these machines use component parts from many different manufacturers, and they are all brought together from all over the world. thats a major cost factor.
Mine for example, uses hydraulic motors and a pump from italy, the engine is japanese, the computer and electrical components come from germany, and the main crushing parts and steel is from the uk.
the cost of steel alone is significant, and when you relaise that these machines are not volume made on a factory production line, but instead hand built , there is no cost savings whatsoever.

the bulk of the cost is in the jaw box itself. like dan says they have to be built tough. the boxes on our machines are about the size of a large television, yet with the flywheels attached they weigh over 1.5 tonnes... thats where the weight is on these machines. new jaw box for a red rhino i think is about 8k.

ambient is right, the komplet infeed conveyor doesnt like slabs of differing sizes much. the most important thing people dont seem to appreciate with mini crushers though is to KEEP IT CLEAN. clay and soil does not crush well, but people seem to think they can throw anything through. which is why we like to pecker and rip up ourselves where possible. get this bit right and you can halve the time (and therefore cost!)

so for crushing demolition waste, i.e this bungalow which is brick etc. we will get as much timber out as possible and pipe and cable etc but what do you recommend.

definetly load with riddle bucket though to get rid of the mud/dust etc??

seen this on ebay

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws....EWAX:IT

or like i say i can get a large terrex finlay crusher off my mate for pound notes, its far to big i reckon but in a day we could do it all. weighs about 30 tons if i remember.

crusher buckets no good then?, read some good reviews in earthmovers about some of the new ones running on 13 ton + machines

definately use riddle bucket unless using mates big crusher which will have grizzly bars to do this for you. the crusher on ebay is a good unit... owner is a mate of mine, as is manufacturer - he does the mods on my komplets. only trouble witjh this machine is not movable: on hook load system.

crusher buckets are no good... despite all claims i have yet to see a crusher bucket on a 13 tonner that pushes out more than our 3.6t komplets. only thing they are good for is crushing reinforced fence posts / conc railway sleepers as can tilt back bucket to remove reinforcing wire.

price per tonne will always be cheaper with big machines, as lomg as got room and transport not too excessive. same as with all equipment...
