Those mat track systems can fitted to any 4x4 in a couple of hours and they cost about £5000. It's simple matter of replacing the normal wheel mounting with a drive sprocket that holds all the return rollers also. You can't put too much latteral force on them but the traction on snow and soft ground is amazing. Some of the estates in Scotland mount them on landrovers so they can travel over the peat bogs without sinking or making a mess. A mate has a set mounted on a 2 series 110 that he dropped a diesel v8 into from one of the estates crashed range rovers. To say it's a beast is an understatement. You need a diff lock or limited slip at the least.
