Snowed in here in Belfast only had about 3 inches but it thawed then froze quickly so everything is lethal and grit is useless. Was hoping to finish off a few snags like soil backfill on drives and walls and a few tar patches but not able to do it so called a halt to it all and had an early start to the holiday. Went and nabbed some nephews so I could go sledging and not look stupid taken the dog for loads of walks and been up a few hills just back from a run around the local forest it's lying about 6" in there and it was great. Long may this snap last. I'm cooking some venison tonight that I shot a while back if anyone fancies some.

Venison! My fave! Love it.
Going to take the kids for a good long walk up to a local beacon tommorrow; should tire them out somewhat.
Icy here in Somerset but no snow!

One more daughter to shop for, and then I'm done. I'd rather do a whole week in water-logged trenches laying pipes in me bare feet rather than traipse around yet another bloody frock shop.
It's all well and good having a break at Christmas, but I;ll give it 24 hours before we're all moaning and wishing we were back at work. You can take the man off the site, but you can't take the site out of the man!
All the best!

we just spent today delivering presents and buying food for 12 people. 300 down, fighting for a trolley to buy food that we`ll never even eat. 30min in the queue to pay for it as well. went for new shoes, asked the assistant for size 10 after 10min wait, he comes back with a box of size 7 as that's all they have. could have killed him. why do we put ourselves through this pain every year. ??? ???
