As i've got a few weeks off i'm catching up with all the stuff you put off like updating website and designing some advertising in photoshop.

so designing some site boards to have up on the sites we work on get them printed then stick them to 8x4 sheets.

so here are the ideas:

more construction orientated yellow and image not silhouetted

number 3 but possibly jcb instead if thats what you run i prefer to use people who run certain types of machine and put it in their ad nothing worse than somebody turning up with an old unreliable banger or something cheap and nasty that wont dig ???

Giles. Wishing you a speedy recovery !

For what its worth - 4th one ! Silhouette looks better I think and cheaper to print when big I

But without horse on the digger .

Would swap words around. Site Clearance : Excavation : Foundations. Landscaping : Fencing : Equestrian Construction. ?

Already says Groundworks in your name ?

Also should www. site not be in small case ?

Cheers.

i prefer the green as that is the same as your website

if your putting this onto an 8' x 4' ply sheet then it would be better if you scaled it to that ratio now as i think you will find you wont get the images of the machines to fit that width and height using the examples above, it would be more like 8' x 6'

thanks for the advice guys top work as ever 3 was my favourite, kinda regret going with the silhouette on business card now should have gone with the real photo,

its scaled to international paper A0 to match printers will just cut the 8x4 sheets down

so going off what you boys say i might have two, green one for the posh folk out in the country side and yellow for the construction jobs.

i'll change the groundworks part of my website to yellow, think i'll also change the image from a cat to a jcb to match ours. i bought the image of the cat off a photo publishing website so i have full rights i'll have to find or take a nice one of a js 160

so here are the finally 2 i think might had a horse somewhere on the green just to reinforce the equestrain theme.

right i see your point now with the size so it will be more like 6' x 4 '

you only need three items really

1: who you are

2: what you do

3: how to contact us

you have text relating to your services including equestrian construction which I think is enough on a sign board otherwise it can become too busy

I am currently doing art work for vehicle sign writing and signs for leaving on the jobs etc and have gone off the idea of having photos as it distract from the message your trying to achieve

keep it simple

the reason I am having new signs made is some thieving b******d stole my others which cost £ 140 each, made with a fold down metal frame and sheet metal for the wording

the new signs are roll up vinyl with eyelets for ease of storage plus they won't get damaged the same as if they were attached to a sheet of ply

just my 2 cents worth :)
