well
some time ago we decided it was time to sort the house out a bit, we decided to have the windows done and renew our old conservatory, also have the house pebble dashed. we also decided that we did not want the soil pipe coming in the new conservatory so we did the upstairs bath room as well and moved it to the side of the house.
So we had contractors to do the windows and the dashing and we done the rest.
here is an old picture of the back of the house and you can see for yourself the mess it was in.
So it was down with the old, (neighbours as well) new conservatory under covers on left of photo.
as you can see the neighbour also decided to do his house as well.
Then up with the new, after doing the bathroom and moving the soil pipe, now jumbo bags under cover on left of photo ready for the garden part of the project. also this conservatory is bigger than the old one.

Then after alot of hard work laying pipes for watering system and lighting and also fitting lighting into the edge of the step and the edge of the patio this is how it ended up.
Tony on here (the guv) done the plans for us, we wanted a random lay and also in the end we deciced to put a circle feature in with a pebble pond in it.
Here are a few pictures of how it turned out, and you can see why my jobs seam to go on forever as i only have evenings and alternate weekends to do them. but to be honest i did take one week of work as well.
Well thats about it, a big thanks to all on this site for your help and advice yet again, a massive thanks to tony for doing the plans for us, and finally its been a long time coming but i hope it has been worth the wait.
When it stops raining, will you get a photie from the lawn, looking back towards the conservatory? I could use that as an example of how my layout plants are turned into reality.
I like it when people lay pipes, cables & ducts in a garden project etc pre-planned in advance of works, makes it so easy when it comes to lighting watering and future projects too!

as for seanandruby yer i did alot of digging and burying on this job, all the watering system from the tap to the left of the step does the watering system, and the plants are doing great... lots of ducting used accross the garden for lighting and to the pebble pond as well.
dig dug dan the lights are from fleabay i pre drilled the slabs first then laid them then from underneath i put them in, to be honest it looks nice but its a pain to install every light is just a 24v LED that we then soldered in to wire and heat shrunk every joint, thats then conected to a 24v transformer from maplins...
so if you want a very cheap but effective lighting this is a good cheap option total costs for led lights wire heatshrink and 2 seperate transformers was under 100 quid, but did take some time.

bob_a they are nustone indian sandstone of the net had a little bit of a delay in getting them but the mrs called them every day and they soon turned up.
The red lines you are talking about is barrier fencing just laying on the fresh laid slabs, a day or so after.
Dave_L yes i make you right on that it was sketch after sketch and keep trying to remember things, all the pipework has reasonable access, so should we have any problems we can get to them.

Nice job. I am about to do the same, upgrade my "shed with big windows." Wife goes mad when i call it that in front of the posh mates..."It's a conservatory darling"..... i get with a dig in the ribs :laugh: The previous owners did the old one with the ground to high and the timber at the bottom is rotting. Doing it all myself so should take a while. Will have to break out the footings i reckon and start again. Any tips on the brickwork, size of cavity etc; will be helpful. Best deals on diy conservatories will also be helpful.
