anyone used nustoneproductslimited i am tempted by this

granite paving

the only thing putting me off is they dont allow me to visit them to see the quality. They are doing me 54m2 for just under 1k delivered.

any idea how much it would be to lay?

Personally I never buy without having seen it - did you buy your last car on spec? - check out Mr McCormack's blog on buying unseen.
How much to lay? - how many times does everybody have to say "GET THREE QUOTES" - then "GO AND CHECK_OUT THEIR WORK !!" - ahem, cough, I've come over all weird.....

looked on there web site the slabs are more like tiles 20 mm thick need to know what your useing them for block paving copy 200 mm x 100 mm also thin at 30 mm for drive way you would need a concrete base they would both need to be laid on washed sand and cement more info for more advice please costings you need to be carefull these would not be easy to lay unless the contractor has previous exp of wet lay nice prouduct but in the wrong hands a very bad job would happen cheers cookie

Nustone are just another company selling paving, sight unseen, over the web, which allows them to keeps costs to a minimum. It's a business model used by many retailers and if price is your major concern, it's hard to fault it. However, there are problems, and these can (and do) affect all such retailers, not just the one mentioned by the OP.

Some of these problems arise from the fact that price is the prime consideration, so the quality of the stone supplied can be, let's say "variable". Some can be so "variable" that it's unusable, and then further problems arise when the customer wants to return and/or replace. Then there's the issue of what is often referred to as "unrealistic expectations", which means the customer thinks they're buying top-of-the-range and is underwhelmed, to say the least, when a pallet-load of mediocrity is dumped in the middle of their driveway.

So: it comes down to what the client wants. If price is the driver, then buy online, over-order by 10-15% to allow for wastage and dross, and don't expect miracles, but if you're the sort of buyer that likes to know what they're getting, you might be better searching for a local supplier with actual stock and a yard you can visit.

yes is my answer to your question,

i bought indian sandstone
they are ok but was 2 to 3 weeks late on delivery,

thats just my experiance though

Depends if you've got a good local supplier with reasonable prices and them having the paving you want in stock.
I haven't got a good local supplier so I went to Simply Paving.
They are dearer than Nustone but they sell stuff from manufacturers like Bradstone and Stoneflar so at least you'll be getting a name. Delivery took 5 days
The Indian Sandstone I got was more of a brown colour than I expected after seeing brochures and internet pictures. That's the peril of buying unseen and something I'll have to live with. As my local suppliers keep little stock they would've had to order in which again is buying unseen as being a natural product the colour can vary from batch to batch.
Buying from a good local supplier who knows what they're talking about is always a good idea but if you live in London finding one may be easier said than done.
