hi i am looking at buying 46m2 of mikeB&Q Select Natural Quarry Granite Patara can anyone comment on the quality and whether paying more is worthwhile
any help appreciated

If it's from B&Q then the quallity is pretty much guaranteed to be poor but at that price you almost can't pass it by. It works out at approx £26m2 thats pretty cheap. My worries would be it's porousity and the chances of it going rusty and a 600x600x20 flag is big and thin so it will break easily when bedding etc. If you go for it then follow the instructions on the main site and chances of problems will be greatly reduced. Definately think about using some kind of bond bridge (SBR or cement slurry). Let us know what you do and post some photos.

dont let a builder near them unless he has previous exp anyone who lays this type of poor q paving should know what they are doing and leave it in the shop use your credit note for sand cement sbr all which can be bought cheaper at bm theres a lot more to the job than cheap paving there is good stuff out there any decent landscaper and paving contractor should be able to show you samples of paving and work take a look at there web sites all the major d i y shops sell the cheap stone but have no intrest in the finshed job be carfull out there

In my area B&Q are very competitive when it comes to things like sand & cement.cookiewales wrote:........use your credit note for sand cement.............
For example buy 5 or more bags of cement and they work out at £3.12 a bag, get 10% off if you take an OAP with you on Wednesday and it's £2.81 a bag.
Local bm's charge nearer £4 a bag for non account customers.
