Absolutely, LLL, with "stone" it is a cosmetic issue but I've used quote marks because it's a lot easier, of course, to stain limestone than granite.
I saw some black slate sealed on a job once because it looked a bit dull and pasty when dry, the client liked the wet look but the architect didn't.........cue SRV tests, etc., all because my blokes did what the client requested during the only time I had been off that site in 11 days!

thats only because the council have procrastinated, dithered, had a comity, a quango and changed their minds 10-15 times before they issued the drawing, and now its been approved they couldn't change they mind if they didn't like "more than my jobs worth to change it now"lutonlagerlout wrote:SRV tests??
I dont like too many chiefs
My biggest gripe at work is when people want to constantly change things as you are doing them,it drives me round the bend,
i like the council jobs, you get a drawing and that is what they want, nothing else

There's a short list (not the same as a shortlist) of sealants for natural stone paving on the Paving Sealants page but trials over the summer have caused me to re-think the lists and when it's quieter of the winter, I'll be adding more suggestions and deleting one or two.
However, as others have said, the sealing season is over. Sealing in the damp climate of Nov-April is just asking for trouble. The decision on whether to seal or not must be yours, but the timing is something I can advise on: leave it until next Spring!
