I am wondering if any one knows of any ramps or devices that can be hired/made to enable me to get a mini digger up a 3 foot step.

Basically there is a 3 foot high retaining wall infront of the lawn and I could do with getting a machine up onto the lawn. Otherwise I will have to dig out 6 tree stumps by hand.

Cheers.

do to buy some?
I brought an 8' and a 10' set from rampco. Aluminium. Amzed how many jobs they are handy for!
Not cheap though, about £400 a set.
I believe you can hire them, but not aware of anywhere round here. My sets are rated at 1.2tonnes (for a 0.8tonne machine) but you can get them rated up tp 10 tonnes!

cant you just track upto it, protect it with a 8x4 sheet use your arm to get your front tracks onto the wall. spin round lift yourself up ant track forward?

we load our 3 ton onto our 7.5 ton using same method up onto a 5 foot high wagon.

alternatively sheet of visqueen dpm and pile a load of earth against wall on the plastic and use that as your ramp.

That's what I was going to suggest aswell Giles, but I guess it comes down to the skill and confidence of the driver, plus the step material.

I didnt want to pile a load of stuff up against wall.
And it is only a mini machine, one that will fit through a gate as it is in a back garden.

Thinking it might be just as cheap to have the extra time to dig it by hand.

thanks for help though.
