I am about to lay some slabs on a screed bed of 10:1.
How long after mixing it do I have to prepare the bed and get the slabs down? I assume the cement content puts a limit on this.
Thank you.
10:1 mix - how long is it usable?
With a semi-dry mix, you get around 4 hours, possibly 6 houirs, but you should only mix it as you need it, rather than churning out a great pile and then struggling to use it up before dark!
Wetter mixes give a shorter working time, and a wet mortar of 'bricklaying' consistency will have a working life of only an hour or so at this time of year.
