Capping layer for soakaway

Foul and surface water, private drains and public sewers, land drains and soakaways, filter drains and any other ways of getting rid of water.

Hi

Can anyone advise what makes up a Capping Layer please. I am installing a soak away with 12 polystorm crates and the main web site refers to adding a capping layer before the sub base, as it will be in the middle of the drive. I assume a capping layer is more than just crushed concrete, perhaps some cement added to it?

Capping layer of aggregate can be cement bound, or unbound. about 100/150 should do it. It will protect the crates and give you a sound layer to start your layering of subase etc.
